a Farewell

Yesterday, my colleagues at office, held a farewell party for me. It was so special not only because I'm going to leave but also because my team leader are having birthday at the same time. They all very kind to me, so that I feel like being in the middle of my own family. It is very hard to leave them now, but I have to. My dream, my future are waiting. They gave me so many 'little things' which they called 'homesick survival kits' ^_^

Someone, even gave me a pack of cigarette. When I miss the smell of Indonesia, they told me to smell this cigar. Oh my gosh, that will be the smell of my hubby.

I wish I could say something nice at this moment yet I'm speechless. For all the good time, the joy and all professional development they have provided me, I do grateful. This isn't goodbye, dear friends. You all will stay in my heart and please keep in touch.

Jakarta Jungle

VISA America

Today, It’s my turn to come to the U.S Counsellor. We’re obliged to have visa interview. Eventough almost everything have been managed by Aminef (really great thanks for the wonderful team), but we still have to come by ourselves for the interview.

The interview itself is only take 2-3 minutes but the queue… Oh dear, it’s so loooong! We spent more than 3 hours in line for some checks, documents, finger prints, etc. When I get into the interview hall, my nerves beat even faster. I saw some people get their visa delayed (yellow card), or rejected (red card) meanwhile other have the white one (safe code).

So, I’m trying to calm myself and pray that everything will run smoothly. The man in front of me, has his visa ready within the next two days, good sign. I was asked some questions about where I’m going, how long, who pay for it and the last question, I cannot understand. He asked me ‘do you know your rights in the U.S?’ I think it is related to the program but unfortunately it is not. It seems that the interviewer get a bit angry to me, and provide me a leaflet to be read.

He mentioned that no one has the right to take my visa, to employ me without salary, etc. Ops.. now I understand what is the question about. I could easily say “NO”, I don’t understand anything about it. A new lesson learnt. Thank you, Sir for your kindness, giving me the white card so that I can breathe freely from this hall.

Sepatu Dahlan

I feel overwhelmed.
